IP Address

An IP address is the unique address of a device in an IP network. IPv4 uses 32 bits (e.g. 192.168.1.1), IPv6 128 bits (e.g. 2001:db8::1). Public IPs are routed on the internet; private IPs (10.x, 172.16-31.x, 192.168.x) only in local networks.
